The work under this Contract comprises the furnishing of all tools, equipment, materials and labor for the construction of the Cimarron Road Culvert Replacement Project located in the Town of Putnam Valley, New York, complete, in place and ready for use in accordance with the Contract Documents. The principal features of the Work include: site clearing and grubbing; demolition and removal of an existing bridge structure consisting of mechanically fastened 6 x 6 timber decking supported by 8 x 8 steel I-beam girders; demolition and removal of existing 11-foot height cast-in-place concrete bridge abutments and wingwalls; demolition and removal of 8,050 square feet of asphalt concrete pavement and 1,750 square feet of gravel surfaced roadway; demolition and removal of a 150 linear foot metal guide rail; demolition and removal of 100 linear feet of 3 foot height fieldstone wall; removal, storage, and replacement of 35 linear feet of 3 foot height fieldstone wall; demolition and removal of 90 linear feet of 12 and 15 inch diameter stormwater conveyance piping; temporary stream by-pass pumping using skid or trailer mounted, diesel powered, mechanical pumping equipment; installation of a temporary sand bag cofferdam in the existing stream channel; installation of a new 32 foot wide (clear span) x 12 foot height x 36 linear foot pre-cast concrete, segmental arch culvert with wingwalls and a headwall installed at each end; re-grading and restoration of asphalt cement concrete roadway including new full depth asphalt pavement at the intersection of Horton Hollow Road and portion of existing driveway/parking area located on property to the south; installation of four pre-cast concrete catch basins and 120 linear feet of new 15 and 18 inch diameter HDPE conveyance piping; installation of 400 linear feet of metal guide rail; removal of temporary erosion and sediment control practices and construction site fencing; site restoration work and all other appurtenant and related work as shown, specified, and required to complete the project. The foregoing is a general description only and shall not be construed as a complete description of the work to be performed. Prospective bidders shall refer to the Contract Documents, including Contract Drawings, for additional project work information. Bid security and proof of qualifications to perform the Work shall be as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Bidders shall comply with all special and statutory requirements in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond, or Certified Check accompanied by a Certificate of Surety, as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bids or to reject any and all bids. No bidder may withdraw their bid except by written request submitted at least twenty-four hours before the time of opening or until the lapse of 45 days after the actual opening thereof. It is the policy of the Town that their Contractors shall comply with all Federal, State, and local law, policy orders, rules and regulations which prohibit unlawful discrimination against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, creed, color, or national origin, and will take affirmative action to insure that they are afforded equal employment opportunities without discrimination because of race, creed, color or national origin.
