The project consists of the reconstruction of the existing asphalt municipal parking lot and a separate alley. The scope of work includes demolition, excavation, grading, subgrade preparation, base course placement, bituminous paving, pavement markings, curbing, concrete flatwork, storm sewer, site electrical work, and landscaping. Instructions to bidders: - Sealed bids will be received by the City of Freeport until the specified opening time and date. All bids must be checked in by the City Clerk's office prior to bid time. Late bids will be refused. - Bids must be accompanied by a bank check, cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond payable to the Owner for ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. - Contractors are encouraged to visit the site to familiarize themselves with the area and project requirements. - Questions may be directed to the Project Manager five business days prior to bid opening. - Not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project and the contractor must ensure non-discrimination in employment. - The City of Freeport reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. - Bids may be held for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of review. - By submitting a bid, each bidder agrees to comply with all applicable ordinances, statutes, and regulations, including equal employment and affirmative action provisions.
