This project will be funded by the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund Program as administered by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and the Ohio Water Development Authority. The Contractor shall note that there are Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation goals for this project. This procurement is subject to the EPA policy on encouraging the participation of small business in rural areas (SBRAs). This contract is being funded from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, Community Development Block Grant Program.OHIO PREFERENCE: In accordance with Ohio Rev. Code 164.05 (A)(6), to the extent practicable, the Prime Contractor and subcontractor shall use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in connection with this project. STEEL PRODUCTS MADE IN THE UNITED STATES: Domestic steel use requirements as specified in Ohio Rev. A. This section includes all demolition of existing structures and removal of pavement, piping, and equipment necessary to clear space for new construction and/or to rehabilitate existing construction. B. Demolition of 100,000-gallon elevated tank and appurtenances, backfilling, and disposal of materials. C. Disconnecting and abandonment or removal of identified utilities, plugging of water mains, and construction of concrete for thrust blocks. D. Prepare existing 100,000-gallon tank site for new use by removing soil as necessary, preparing subgrade, placing geogrid, and placing aggregate top surface for parking lot use A. This specification details the provisions for the pump station control system including the following (see also Y-series drawings): 1. The existing Telemetry/SCADA is being relocated from the existing old water tower to the new water tower, once the new tower has been disinfected and ready for service. 2. Contractor and Integrator are to coordinate with the Village to reconnect existing control/monitoring equipment set-up at the new tower base and verify booster station operations for the existing tower are to be reconnected to the new tower. B. Provisions for new equipment: 1. New equipment is not anticipated as part of this design. However, if new equipment is required the remainder of these specifications would govern. 2. The cost for new equipment has not been included in this design. If new equipment were to be required, and appropriate change order would be executed at that time. A. This Section includes general requirements for the commissioning of the Work and start-up and operation of systems and equipment. A. This work includes furnishing and installing all joints where necessary. B. In general, the work may include the following types of joints: 1. Types A, D, E, F, H and J Expansion Joint 2. Types B and L Waterstop Construction Joint 3. Types C and G Isolation Joints 4. Type K Construction Joint 5. Type CJ Control Joint C. Refer to the contract drawings and specifications for locations and details of the joints to be used. A. The Contractor shall furnish and install a complete system of cathodic protection. The complete equipment shall be of an established make suitable and adequate for the purpose described and shall be fully guaranteed to prevent corrosion of the underwater interior surface of the tank and riser by use of electrical currents only. A. The Contractor shall furnish, place and compact all the materials needed from select excavated materials or furnish additional suitable material if the excavated material is deemed unsuitable or the moisture content is not or can not be made to be within acceptable tolerances of optimum moisture to achieve the specified compaction. A. This work shall consist of the placement of a flowable low strength mortar for backfilling conduits or at other locations as shown on the plans or as specified. The work shall be in accordance with ODOT Item 603 and 499 unless otherwise specified. A. The Contractor shall furnish all of the equipment, labor and materials necessary to install, replace, and/or restore existing pavement structures together with their respective appurtenances as shown on the plans and as specified herein. This work shall include all of the subgrade preparation, subbase, base, intermediate pavement course(s), and finish pavement courses together with curbing, guttering, tack and/or prime coating, sealing and other pertinent work as necessary to meet the conditions of this contract. A. The Contractor shall furnish all the labor, equipment, and materials necessary to properly erect, test, and prepare for continuous operation at the location shown on the drawings, the elevated steel tank with all appurtenances necessary for the proper completion of the work included under this contract. B. In general, this work shall include the elevated tank complete with supporting structure, anchor bolts, hatches, overflow, blowoff valve and piping to the limits shown on the drawings. Included with the elevated tank work shall be all cleaning and painting, testing, sterilization, cathodic protection system, and accessories as specified. C. Electrical work is included in NOTES on the Drawings and other technical specifications herein. Contractor shall establish electrical service at the Tank site. Contractor shall include an Allowance of $20,000 in accordance with SECTION 012100 for service to this site. D. The concrete foundation design shall be furnished by the tank manufacturer and shall be in accordance with the supplementary information contained herein and asshown on the drawings. E. Operating Parameters Tank Capacity 100,000 gallons Estimated Diameter 26 ft Grade Elevation EL. 770 Top of Foundation EL. 770 Inlet/Outlet Pipe Diameter 12-inches Fill Rate 200 gpm HWL EL. 892 LWL EL. 870 Overflow Rate 350 gpm
