Work consists of a new school for Grand Caillou Elementary School located at 3933 Grand Caillou Road, Houma, Louisiana. All work is to be completed within six hundred (600) calendar days from the written Notice to Proceed, subject to milestone phase completion deadlines identified in the Project Manual or approved Change Orders. If the contractor fails to complete the work or obtain occupancy approval from the State Fire Marshal's Office by the required dates, the owner may deduct stipulated damages per calendar day for each day of delay. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held for bidders, and attendance for the entire meeting is required. Proposals must be submitted using the Louisiana Uniform Public Works Bid Form as furnished with the Contract Documents and must be accompanied by bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount. Bid security must be a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond made payable to the Terrebonne Parish School Board, and Bid Bond must include Power of Attorney. A corporate resolution or other written proof of authority for the person signing the bid is required. Failure to include any required documents or to properly complete the Bid Form will result in rejection of the bid. All other information in the Instructions to Bidders, Articles 1-10, must be strictly adhered to. Bids will only be accepted from contractors licensed for Building Construction under Louisiana law. No bid may be withdrawn for forty-five (45) calendar days after the closing. Proposal prices must exclude any taxes but include any applicable shipping or transportation charges.
