The district is seeking proposals for the rebuilding of the Dewatering Facility at the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant (WRP) located at 400 East 130th Street, Chicago, IL 60628. Proposals are sought from qualified Proposers to design, install and rebuild the centrifuge Dewatering Facility on a Progressive Design-Build (PDB) basis. The following is a list of major items in the scope of work. Refer to APPENDIX R - DESIGN CRITERIA DOCUMENT for a detailed scope of work, specifications, and reference drawings from previous contracts. Replacement of six (6) centrifuges and all related process, mechanical, electrical, and I&C systems in the facility to enable the operation of the new dewatering equipment; replacement of boilers; and rehabilitation of conveyor systems. The design shall be in compliance with the current National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes. Construction of two (2) digested sludge storage tanks, each with a 0.75-million-gallon capacity, near the Dewatering Building to allow normal digester operations while the centrifuge facility is off-line. Structural and architectural inspection and rehabilitation of the facility building, including wall modifications to meet the NFPA code requirements. Civil site work as required for access roads, pavements, grading and drainage, and underground piping and utilities. Rehabilitation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as all plumbing work in the building. Installation of a new diesel fuel tank, pump, and dispenser at the West Drying Cells. Installation of a new Ferric Chloride storage and conveyance system near the new digested sludge storage tanks.
