The successful proponent will be responsible for providing waste management services, including the collection, transport, and disposal of general waste and various recyclable materials. The successful proponent must be a single legal entity but may perform the services either directly or through qualified subcontractors, provided that the proponent remains fully accountable for all aspects of contract performance. The focus is on the collection, transport, and disposal of general waste, and recycling services will also be required for a variety of materials to ensure compliance with municipal and environmental regulations. Waste sorting at the source will be the responsibility of BC Transit staff, who will place waste in designated bins, but proponents must ensure that final sorting is done in accordance with waste management best practices where required. The scope of services includes scheduled collection and disposal of general waste and a variety of recyclable streams, including paper, cardboard, soft and hard plastics, glass, Styrofoam, e-waste, and organics. This agreement also includes waste materials such as wood, tires, drums, and pails.
