The Benton County Drainage Authority requests quotes to perform mowing of the buffer strip along both sides of the open channel of County Ditch No. 9. The buffer strip is defined as an area 16-1/2 feet wide measured outward from the top edge of the ditch channel. The goal is to mow grasses and small brush, such as willows, to a height of less than 6 inches. It should be assumed that successful bidders must mow along both sides of the open channel, regardless of whether adjacent landowners may have already mowed the area. Bidders are responsible for determining the best and most efficient means of completing the work. Not all portions of the ditch will be mowed due to wetland restrictions and other reasons; the total length requiring mowing, subtracting specific restricted areas, is 5.02 miles. All work and any cleanup shall be completed within 14 business days after starting.
