Demolition, site work, paving, outdoor lighting and new construction of a mixed-use development in Sacramento, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; for outdoor lighting for a road / highway; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel.
General work description: The project includes a new vertical lift bridge over the Sacramento River between Sacramento and West Sacramento and removal of a number of structurally deficient or functionally obsolete bridges that have reached the limit of their design life. Approximately 500 feet of Bercut Drive will be modified from Railyards Boulevard to have 2 northbound lanes tapered down to one northbound and one southbound lane. Jibboom Street will be modified to have one traveled lane in each direction, a class II bike lane, sidewalk and retaining walls. Railyards Boulevard will extend to the west to the new bridge and over the Sacramento River and will include two westbound lanes with one eastbound lane. The new profile of Railyards Boulevard would be raised to meet CVFPB clearance requirements. C Street will have a center left-turn lane, class II bike lanes, on-street parking, and sidewalks. The existing Class I Sacramento River Parkway trail will be reconstructed to be grade-separated in order to maintain a continuous levee maintenance road. Retaining walls will be added along the class I path to account for the vertical difference and limited horizontal clearance between I-5 and the viaduct structure. Improvements to the existing levee are necessary on the West Sacramento side of the river and include reconstruction to meet current design standards. Work will include 3:1 slopes on both sides of the levee and a 20 foot crown on the top of the levee. Other work within the project footprint includes utility relocations, pavement markings, roadside signs, landscaping, traffic signal modifications and street lighting as shown on the plans and as directed by the Engineer. Liquidated Damages : $21,500 per working days. Estimated Bid Value : $260,000,000.00 Project Duration : 1,100 working days. Q&A Deadline 02/11/2026 5:00 PM (PST) : Online Q&A Yes No LBE. No DBE.
