Description

Repair and restoration of public infrastructure that has sustained damage, including but not limited to utility maintenance, additions, main breaks, and new construction. The contractor will provide all labor, materials, machinery, plant equipment, transportation, and other necessary items to complete the work in a first-class and workmanlike manner, and will settle all damages and judgments arising from negligence or unauthorized acts by themselves, their agents, or employees. Work must be performed according to the specifications and all provisions of the most current Joplin City Code and as specified by the Director of Public Works. The contractor will have access to an electronic database with automatically updated repair locations throughout the city, and must complete repairs within fifteen (15) business days from the date the permit is added to the online portal. Failure to do so will result in a penalty of $300 per business day per individual excavation; double this rate applies for cuts within arterial or collector streets. Response time of 1 hour is required after notification for problems on arterials and collectors. All contractors must be licensed in the City. A bid bond of $25,000 must accompany each bid. The successful bidder must sign an agreement confirming participation in a Federal Work Authorization Program and provide an Affidavit of Compliance, and will need to furnish an indemnity bond equal to the bid amount before starting work.
