The St. Cloud Metropolitan Transit Commission is constructing a new Western Transit Center to serve riders for both fixed route and on-demand transit, located in Waite Park, Minnesota, at the intersection of 2nd Avenue South and Sundial Drive. The Western Transit Center will provide a climate controlled indoor waiting area and public restrooms for riders, space for full-time transit staff for customer service, restrooms and break area for drivers, bus parking for loading/unloading passengers, earthen works for screening and stormwater management, and connections to local utilities. The project is funded by the FTA, administered by MnDOT, and participates in the Minnesota Sustainable Building Guidelines [B3] small buildings tract, requiring participation in cataloging data for compliance tracking by the Owner, design team, and Contractor.
