Question deadline 01/08/2026 at 03:00 PM The project is for the furnishing of all labor and materials and the performance of all work required for the boiler replacement at Eastern High School, 12400 Old Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40243. Instructions to bidders: - Sealed bids are to be hand delivered and placed in the locked Bid Box at the Facility Planning Unit, Jefferson County Public Schools, 3001 Crittenden Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40209, prior to the designated time for receipt of bids. No mailed or faxed bids will be accepted. The bidder must be present at the bid opening or the bid will be automatically rejected. - Single or multiple contracts may be awarded on the basis of the lowest and best lump sum bid, or the lowest and best combination of individual bids, as determined in the best interest of Jefferson County Public Schools. A minimum number of points may be required for the General Contractor's Good Faith Efforts if District's goals are not met. - Bidders must submit with their bid: 1) Proposal Form (properly signed, with completed unit prices and listing of all subcontractors at time of submittal; listing of manufacturers to be submitted within 1 hour of the bid), 2) Bid Security (properly signed, witnessed, and executed), and 3) Minority, Women, and Veteran Business Enterprise Sub-contracting Plan; Contractor's Good Faith Effort Summary Sheet, Affidavit, and Supplemental Sheet (properly completed, signed, and dated). - The bid guarantee must be in the form of a Certified/Cashier's Check or Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid and made payable to Jefferson County Public Schools, issued by a Surety Company with an A.M. Best Company rating of "A-" or better. - Absence of required documents will be grounds for automatic rejection of bids. - The Owner reserves the right to accept any bid, reject any or all bids, waive any informalities, and to reject any bid if the bidder is not qualified to carry out the contract. - Refer to the appropriate specification sections for requirements such as liquidated damages, substantial/final completion dates, and performance and payment bonds. - Bids may not be withdrawn for 45 days after the designated time for receipt of bids. - Contractor's Profile form, if not on file, is due before the award of a contract. - Bid submissions are to be organized as follows: Bid Bond in one envelope, Minority/Women/Veteran participation documents in a second envelope, and Form of Proposal in a third envelope. All three must be distinctly labeled and placed in a single large envelope labeled with the project name and submitting company. Contents of the first two envelopes must be complete for the bid to be considered. - The Jefferson County Board of Education provides equal opportunities to all bidders. This project consists of a boiler replacement at Eastern High School in the Jefferson County Public School District. The existing gas-fired hot water boilers and circulation pumps will be replaced. The existing piping will be reworked to support these replacements. The electrical scope is also limited to supporting these replacements. All equipment shall be furnished and installed by the contractor, but JCPS will be handling the controls installation for this project themselves. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: This project is the boiler replacement for Eastern High School.
