Design and installation of hearing loop systems at various public service counters in Winnipeg public facilities to facilitate accessible communication for individuals with hearing impairments, in accordance with the Winnipeg Accessibility Design Standards. The pilot project will begin at specific locations including Pan Am Pool, 311 Customer Service Counters, St. James Civic Centre, Police Headquarters, Millennium Library, Transit Customer Service Centres, Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex, and the Portage and Main Concourse. Work includes the provision and installation of induction loop amplifiers with adjustable settings, discreetly installed loop cables, strategically placed microphones, compatible hearing loop receivers, dedicated power outlets indicated with signage, and signage at service counters for easy identification. All work, including system design, installation, operation, testing, and commissioning, must comply with Manitoba Building Code, Manitoba Accessibility Standard for Customer Service, Winnipeg Accessibility Design Standards, CSA C22.1:21, CAN CSA-CISPR 32, and IEC 60118-4. The installed system must be compatible with a range of hearing aids and cochlear implants equipped with telecoils. The consultant must provide ongoing maintenance and support, including routine inspections, adjustments, troubleshooting for one year, staff training, and comprehensive documentation including manuals, technical specs, maintenance guidelines, as-built drawings, and system configurations. Work is to be performed on an "as required" basis as authorized by the Contract Administrator. The value available for this contract is $50,000.00.
