Q & A Deadline 01/09/2026 03:45 PM EST The project scope of work for Sallier Street Reconstruction consists of the following: o Base Bid - Rehabilitation of an existing two-lane concrete roadway with a three-lane concrete roadway from Riverside Drive to Lake Street. This includes expansion due to the LADOTD's extension of Nelson Road Extension and Bridge, undeveloped property along Sallier Street, and projected traffic volumes. The project will address major improvements in drainage, sanitary sewer, and water services due to required relocation. The existing rail was relocated by the Port of Lake Charles under a separate contract. o Alternate No. 1 - Construction of a cul-de-sac at the southern end of Riverside Drive, required as a result of the LADOTD Nelson Road Extension and Bridge project. o Alternate No. 2 - Installation of drainage improvements along Riverside Drive and Lake Street to support drainage infrastructure under the Sallier Street Base Bid scope. Riverside Drive drainage serves as the drainage outfall for western Sallier Street subsurface drainage. Widening and drainage improvements along Lake Street support the Lake/Sallier interchange improvements. o Alternate No. 3 - Rehabilitation of Depot Alley, construction of a new interchange with Sallier Street, and parking improvements within the Depot Alley right of way between W. Walnut Street and Jabez Drive. Allows zero unit prices and labor. Allows negative unit prices and labor. Question Deadline 01/09/2026 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to the Engineer. Questions received less than seven (7) working days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
