The work involves furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, services, and incidentals necessary for the hardening of Fire Station No. 1 to increase resistance to wind damage. This includes replacing all windows, replacing all exterior doors including swing and overhead doors, renovating four restrooms, performing selected masonry veneer repairs, selected EIFS repairs, replacement of the sloped standing seam metal roof, replacing the metal panel at gable ends of the roof (the low slope membrane roof is to remain), re-working the kitchen exhaust fan, and replacing all coping. Additionally, the installation of a new owner-furnished, contractor-installed natural gas generator is included in the project. Bids must be submitted in triplicate on prescribed forms, accompanied by bid security not less than 5 percent of the base bid amount, and an electronic copy on a USB flash drive. The outside of the envelope must clearly state the bidder’s name, address, and “ITB26-014 FIRE STATION NO. 1 HARDENING.” All bid bonds, contract bonds, insurance contracts, and certificates must be executed or countersigned by a licensed resident agent in Florida and the Surety or insurance company must be qualified to do business in the State. The successful bidder must hold or obtain all necessary contractor and business licenses as required by state statutes. The Owner will evaluate the performance record and capability of the lowest bidder prior to awarding a contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, postpone the award for up to 120 days, and address bidder questions via email by the date specified.
