Description

Renovation of a library in Missoula, Montana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 13,000-square-foot library.

The City of Missoula hereby solicits proposals from manufacturers and suppliers of living roof modules and plants, pursuant to Title 18, Chapter 4 of the Montana Codes Annotated. The City of Missoula was recently awarded a federal grant through Western Montana Conservation Commission to retrofit the roof of the Missoula Public Library from rock ballast to living roof. The living roof system should include modules, growing medium, and climate adapted plants. Construction of the project is intended to begin in the fall of 2026. The living roof design is anticipated to include approximately 13,000 square feet of living roof, spread across three levels of the building. The primary objectives of the living roof are stormwater runoff reduction, green infrastructure demonstration, energy efficiency, and pollinator habitat. The proposals will be evaluated based on the best-value criteria discussed in the RFP document. The City intends to select one Supplier from these competitive sealed proposals and then proceed with final design of living roof retrofit based on the selected Supplier's materials. The City is planning to use project funding from Federal and Local agencies, and their requirements apply to this project, including Buy America, Build America.
