The City reserves the unrestricted right to increase or decrease the amount of the work on any job under this contract without prior approval of the contractor. Changes in the amount of work may be made by adding or deleting any item or by increasing ordecreasing the quantity of an item with the price being adjusted accordingly. The City also reserves the right to accept bids and award separate contracts, independent from this contract, for any specific water main installation job or for additional or changed work without affecting this contract. The minimum main extension is 500', but most projects are 1,000'to 2,000' long.This contract will be in effect on March 1, 2026 or date of award, whichever is later, and will remain in effect for eighteen (18) months. If it is mutually agreeable with the City and the contractor, this contract may be extended for additional periods of time. The contract covering the additional period shall be extended under the same terms, conditions, specifications, quantities and costs. Before any extension agreement is effective, it must be executed by both the City and the Contractor and approved by the City Council.
