Site work and new construction of a civil project in Aiyansh, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for the construction of a pipeline.
The Nass Valley Transmission Line. Also co-owned by the Nisga’a Nation and Western LNG, the 120-kilometre-long, 287-kilovolt power line is intended to connect Ksi Lisims to BC Hydro’s high-voltage transmission grid. This includes a 15-kilometre portion of the line going under water as it approaches the floating facility. The transmission line will enable electrification of the LNG terminal, supporting net-zero emissions from the start of operations. TIMELINE: The project is still in the early stages. The project has received both an environmental assessment certificate from the BC Government and a positive decision statement from the federal government. The Canada Infrastructure Bank has provided a loan of $140 million to BC Hydro for pre-construction activities such as engineering and planning. Construction is expected to start in the second quarter of 2026.
