SD 92 Nisga'a is replacing end of life resistance heating based HVAC with a new HVAC system that is provided with heating and cooling from a centralized geothermal plant. SCOPE OF WORK .1 The hazardous materials Consultant and Contractor shall together provide services for testing, hoarding, air monitoring, security, removal, clean-up, disposal, handling, and reporting for all asbestos containing or contaminated building materials associated with the scope of work as identified on the project drawings on the property known as Nisgaía Elementary Secondary School at the address as noted in Section 00002. .1 The School District maintains Hazardous Materials Inventory Reports. Contact [PROJECT MANAGER, see Project Participants Section] to request the latest Hazardous Materials Inventory Report for this site. .2 All asbestos containing materials on-site associated with the scope of work as identified on the project drawings shall be removed. Asbestos containing materials on-site not disturbed by the project shall not be removed as part of this project. .3 Contractor to coordinate walk through with the Abatement Consultant and Contractor to confirm locations of suspected asbestos containing materials which will be disturbed during construction. The Contractor will retain an Abatement Consultant to test asbestos containing material. Removal of asbestos containing material will be completed by the independent Abatement Contractor prior to demolition and construction. .4 All work shall be carried out according to these specifications, the Worksafe BC Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, and the Worksafe BC publication: Safe Work Practices for Handling Asbestos, latest Edition. 5 All asbestos removal work is to be completed outside of regular school hours. Set up of asbestos removal work areas can be done during regular school hours, provided that no asbestos containing materials are disturbed during the course of the work area set up. .6 Abatement contractor to provide all labor, materials, services, insurance and equipment, in accordance with requirements of Worksafe BC, the British Columbia Ministry of Environment and other regulatory agencies to complete the removal and clean-up as specified of all asbestos containing materials within the allotted time frame.
