The work involves the reconstruction of North Beach Drive (Hill) and associated roadway and drainage improvements, including approximately 5,100 square yards of 4-inch asphalt mill and relay, removal of 87 reinforced concrete panels, installation of 1,650 linear feet of 24-inch concrete curb and gutter, placement of reinforced concrete panels (approximately 9'-11" x 2' x 4.5"), various types and quantities of hot-mix asphalt (HMA) pavement and sidewalk, installation of base aggregates and geotextiles, geogrid reinforcement, EPDM liner, common excavation and undercutting, landscaping restoration, traffic control measures, temporary signals, and temporary precast concrete barriers. Additional drainage improvements include inlet protection, removal and replacement of adjusting rings, installation of 4-foot diameter inlets, pipe underdrain installation, riprap, geotextile fabric, ditch regrading, and more. Bidders must submit proposals on the provided form, enclose them in a sealed envelope marked with the project name, and pay particular attention to bid signature requirements. A full and complete list of proposed subcontractors (including the class of work for each) must be submitted with the bid. A contractor’s qualification statement is also required unless previously submitted. Bids must include a bid bond or certified check of at least five percent of the bid, to serve as a guarantee upon acceptance. The selected contractor must furnish insurance certificates and payment and performance bonds in the full amount of the bid. No bids may be withdrawn for 150 days after opening without consent.
