Boston Public Schools seeks a qualified vendor to provide installation, operation, maintenance, and repair services for up to 125 LIT Fiber data circuits connecting facilities to designated district internet gateways. The vendor is responsible for delivering scalable, carrier-grade fiber transport services to ensure reliable connectivity for instructional, administrative, and operational functions. This includes all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and expertise necessary for fiber installation and provisioning, network operations, monitoring, and maintenance, and repair and incident response. Specific tasks include conducting site assessments, installing single-mode fiber with a minimum of two active strands per site, splicing, termination, testing, labeling, documentation, providing service capacity of 1Gb or 2Gb per site with the ability to upgrade to 10Gb, ensuring circuits are operational by agreed-upon dates, continuous monitoring, maintaining service levels with 24x7 support and four-hour repair response time, equipment replacement, outage notification, alternate connectivity if downtime exceeds eight hours, on-site troubleshooting, service restoration, and repairing any vendor-caused property damage. The scope supports up to 125 sites, and the opportunity is open to all vendors, with encouragement for participation from small, local, minority-owned, women-owned, and veteran-owned businesses, as well as subcontracting to certified businesses.
