JOB 1: EXTERIOR LOG-WALL PREPARATION 2.1. Remove window/door framing to complete jobs 1-4 and replace them when finished. 2.2. Remove all existing paint/stain from all exterior log walls. 2.3. Sand all exterior log walls to prep for Jobs 2 & 3. 3. JOB 2: EXTERIOR LOG WALL REPAIRS 3.1. Repair all decayed logs. 3.2. Repair or replace all existing chinking. 3.3. Seal gaps between logs and around all windows and doors with appropriate log caulking. 3.4. Seal all checks in logs, timbers, and wood siding with appropriate log caulking. 3.5. Apply wood preservative to all wood surfaces to protect wood from decay, fungi and wood destroying insects. 3.6. Cut off all decayed log ends.JOB 3: EXTERIOR LOG WALL FINISHING: Applicable to all exterior log walls previously prepped/repaired according to the specifications in jobs 1 & 2. 4.1. Finish all exterior log walls with appropriate combination of primer/sealer and wood stain products, to be agreed upon by the contractor and project manager before the start of work. 5. JOB 4: STONE CHIMNEY 5.1. Remove as much debris as possible from the gap between the stone chimney and exterior southfacing log wall. 5.2. Seal the gap between the exterior south facing wall and chimney (on both sides of the chimney) with backing material and chinking to prevent water from getting between the chimney and wall. MANDATORY BIDDER SITE VISIT It is mandatory that prospective bidders inspect the project sites prior to submitting a bid. This will enable bidders to familiarize themselves with the scope of work. Bidders shall visit the sites on their own. The Site Visit Mandatory Attestation-Individual Bidder Attendance form (Attachment B) must be completed by the Contractor and submitted with the bid package.
