Renovation of a mixed-use development in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and educational facility.

Sealed proposals are requested for the following projects: Pittsburgh Brashear Secure Vestibule (General, Mechanical, and Electrical Primes), Pittsburgh Brashear Underground Storage Tank Removal (Mechanical Prime), Pittsburgh King Cafeteria Floor Renovations (General Prime), Pittsburgh Roosevelt Site Improvement (General Prime), and Pittsburgh Westwood PreK-5 Finish Floor Replacement and Miscellaneous Work (General, Asbestos, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical Primes). Project Manual and Drawings are available for purchase at the specified location. Project details and dates are described in each project manual. The work to be performed under these Specifications and the accompanying drawings include the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision and services as required for the proper completion of all work which shall include but is not limited to the following: The Electrical Contractor shall include these specifications, accompanying drawings, Instructions to Bidders, General Conditions, General Requirements and Summary of Work as part of his Contract Documents. All Electrical Demolition, as may be required. Remove all obsolete lighting fixtures, boxes, devices, wiring, exposed raceways, and other items not used in the finished work. Reuse existing panelboards. Provide new updated typewritten directories. Provide new circuit breakers for the new circuits, where indicated. Electrical Contractor is responsible for all cutting and patching for all Electrical work under this division. Reference the General Contractors documents to verify any items already provided under the General Contract. Do all painting for electrical work that is beyond the General Contractor's scope of work. 5. Provision of Temporary Light and Power, as required. See the Architectural Division specifications and drawings for instructions regarding Asbestos Precautions and Abatement 7. Provision of fire stop seals through fire-rated walls, ceilings, etc. for all new raceway penetrations. Remove and reinstall acoustic tile ceiling panels, 1' x 1' ceiling tiles and plaster ceilings, to perform electrical work. Reinstall ceiling panels to match existing construction. 9. Provision of new branch circuits, 10. Provision and installation of new lighting fixtures, relays, wiring, etc, installed complete. 11. Provision and installation of fire alarm relocations. Upon reward of contract, successful contractor shall immediately notify the Electrical Department of the Pittsburgh Public Schools, in writing, of the exact "date of the commencement of the contractor's work", in coordination with the General Contractor's overall schedule. 13. Provision and installation of Data System jacks and wiring including testing of new wiring. 14. Provision and installation of Communication System upgrades. This project, in its entirety, shall be complete and operational by the date listed in the Bidding Documents. The Electrical Contractor shall provide all necessary manpower (including multiple shifts, as necessary) to complete the project by this date and shall be part of the BASE BID at no additional cost to the Owner. The Contractor and the manufacturer's representative shall visit the site during bidding to verify the existing conditions, raceway routings, and to insure that all equipment will fit where intended. All work assembling or pre-assembling of manufactured goods, to include conduits, cutting, bending or threading shall be executed on the job site. All wiring installation, cutting, terminations, tagging and fixture whips shall be performed on site. All boxes, supports and brackets shall be prepared, measured, cut and assembled on site. All equipment shall be shipped to the job site as shipped by the manufacturer and shall be field adjusted, assembled and mounted or set to field conditions on site. All the above work shall be performed by qualified mechanics. See "Raceways" Section. 18. All required testing of the new systems. The Electrical Contractor shall refer to the Owner's Instructions to Bidders and General Conditions, regarding approval of manufacturers and sub-contractors. 20. All miscellaneous items, as hereinafter listed or as shown on the Contract Drawings. Attention is hereby directed to the provisions of the "Scope of Work" and to the conditions, details and instructions developed in the accompanying Drawings at Brashear High School, 590 Crane Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15216 and numbered Sheets No(s). E-1 thru E-4 and all Bidding and Contract Documents. Furnish and install all equipment, accessories, and materials in accordance with these specifications and drawings. This System must be updated by Certified Technician to insure continued coverage. Include all required supplementary equipment, connectors, wiring, etc. may be needed for a complete and operable system.
