Site work for a development in Shafter, California. Completed plans call for site work for a conservation development.
The work includes mobilization of all required personnel, equipment, and facilities to construct the Southeast Recharge Grading Project located south of Orange Avenue East, approximately ¼ mile east of Cherry Avenue in Shafter, California. The project consists of clearing and grubbing approximately 35.3 acres of District property, placing approximately 20,365 cubic yards (as in-place fill) of material to construct the basin and channel levees, grading approximately 27.98 acres of basin and channel bottoms, ripping and floating of basin bottoms, and constructing the inter-basin structure. The work must be completed during the period identified in the Specifications. Bidders must possess the contractor's license classification required by law at the time of contract award. Contractors shall provide their license number and expiration date in the proposal. Each bidder is required to sign a Noncollusion Affidavit and submit it with the bid. The successful Bidder must furnish a Payment Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract, secured by a surety company satisfactory to the District. Bids shall be based on the payment of not less than the prevailing wage for this locality and project as determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations and as provided in the Davis-Bacon Act, whichever is greater. The project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. Each contractor and subcontractor must furnish the records specified in Labor Code section 1776 directly to the Labor Commissioner and is required to post job site notices as prescribed by regulation. Equivalent securities may be substituted for monies withheld to ensure performance of the contract. All instructions for preparing acceptable bids are found in the Specifications, including Sections A and B thereof.
