The project consists of improvements to the existing Water Reclamation Facility to expand the existing activated sludge system and implement Enhanced Biological Nutrient Removal system utilizing the A2O process. This project includes construction of new activated sludge tanks, new blowers, splitter structures, a final clarifier conversion, UV equipment, sludge pumping, chemical feed equipment, site work, electrical, control, and mechanical improvements. The project also includes equipment replacements including grit removal, primary clarifier mechanisms weir baffles, a final clarifier drive, sludge pumps, a sludge storage tank, heat exchangers, gravity belt thickener rehabilitation, and blowers. The project includes demolition of the existing trickling filters, intermediate clarifiers, manholes, and select piping. Site civil, mechanical, electrical, and controls improvements are also included. All work is as outlined in the Contract documents. The extent of the work involved is the furnishing of labor and new materials for the construction of Wastewater Reclamation Facility Improvements and related items in accordance with the Contract Documents. The Wastewater Treatment Facility Improvements will take place at the Facility's address at 2750 S Birch Dr, Mason City, IA 50401. The facility is located on the southeast side of town south of the Winnebago River. The Contractor shall commence work after the Notice to Proceed is issued and shall be completed with nutrient reduction related construction (Milestone 1) on or before October 1, 2027, substantially completed on or before March 1, 2028, and fully completed with all construction on or before June 30, 2028.
