This project includes traffic signal safety improvements at 5 intersections along US 119 aimed to increase safety forroad users and township staff. These improvements include installation of radar detectors with dilemma zone protection, battery backup systems, emergency vehicle preemption and new GPS time clocks and updated traffic signal timings. Question Deadline 01/30/2026 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be directed to the Engineer. Questions received less than three days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. This project includes upgrades at five (5) signalized intersections along US Route 119 within the township. The bid amount must include furnishing, constructing, installing, removing and testing all equipment, materials and products necessary and as required in the scope of work. All work is to be performed within the public rights of way. Any work performed outside of any public right of way will be the CONTRACTOR's responsibility to coordinate with private property owners. Separate and sealed proposals marked "US 119 TRAFFIC SIGNAL SAFETY UPGRADES" will be received for a project involving upgrades at five signalized intersections along US Route 119 within Dunbar Township. The bid must include furnishing, constructing, installing, removing, and testing all equipment, materials, and products required in the scope of work. All work must be performed within public rights of way; any work outside must be coordinated with private property owners. Proposals must be accompanied by a certified check or Bidder's Bond in the amount of ten percent of the proposal. Contractors must adhere to Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage requirements and Act 127 of 2012 (Public Works Employment Verification Act). The bituminous price index in accordance with PennDOT Form 408 is applicable. Dunbar Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informality in bids received. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days after the opening.
