The Milford Water Utilities Department (Owner) is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified and competent local contractors for the replacement of aging municipal water main infrastructure. The project includes installation of new HDPE water main pipe, water valves and valve boxes, hydrants, water service connections, and associated appurtenances. Work also includes excavation, temporary trench support, dewatering, backfilling, compaction, surface restoration, and testing/disinfection. The work shall be executed in a manner that complies with the Town of Milford Water and Sewer Commission Water Utilities Standard Regulations and Specifications for Design and Construction of Water and Sewer Infrastructure, latest edition, and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) Drinking Water Standards. Project Duration Contractor shall substantially complete all work within 180 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Final completion of the water main replacement project shall be achieved no later than November 15, 2026. All questions shall be submitted in writing to the Owner's contact no later than seven days prior to the scheduled bid opening. A. This section covers the installation of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe and furnishing and installing HDPE fittings as shown on the Drawings and specified herein. B. Equipment required for butt fusion of HDPE pipe and fittings shall be furnished by the Contractor.
