Bryant School Paving & Sitework involves work at the Bryant School, 230 Poplar Street, Bridgeport, CT. Bidders must submit their electronic bids through the City's e-Procurement Portal, OpenGov. To submit a bid, bidders must create a free account on OpenGov Procurement, complete the account registration process, return to the project page, click "Submit Response," and follow the instructions to submit their electronic bid. All questions regarding the bid must be submitted in writing through the OpenGov website's question section. Bidders are responsible for checking the procurement portal regularly for any issued addendums. All inquiries regarding this bid must be presented in writing and may be posted directly on the procurement portal, OpenGov. All answers will be published in the form of addenda on the procurement portal. Question Deadline 01/30/2026 at 2:00 PM ET Demolition and Removal of Existing Playscape Structure: o Obtain and pay for permit if required by the City of Bridgeport o Demo and dispose of playscape structure & footings and remove offsite o Demo and dispose of fencing around existing playscape. Replace fencing around playground. Contractor must coordinate with Playscape Contractor. Contractor must confirm measurements with Playscape Contractor, as seen in the Scope of Work Exhibit A-Bryant School Playground Site Plan. Owner must approve fencing choice, size and area. Excavation of Playscape Area: o Obtain and pay for permit if required by the City of Bridgeport o Saw cutting and excavation of approx. 930 SF up to 10", excavation, removal & disposal of asphalt feet (measurements to be verified by Contractor in the field) o Excavation of 913 SF up to 10", removal of existing mat tiles and subbase up to 10" feet (measurements to be verified by Contractor in the field) o Coordinate with Playscape Contractor to prep area for new playscape, as seen in the Scope of Work Exhibit A Bryant School Playground Site Plan Repaving of Asphalt Lots (rear play area and side parking lot) Playscape area will NOT be paved, see the Scope of Work Exhibit A Bryant School Playground Site Plan o Obtain and pay for permit if required by the City of Bridgeport o Sawcut o Excavation and disposal of existing asphalt o All work to be performed to DOT form 818 spec or as otherwise approved by the Owner o Grade and compact subgrade to 95% o Pave with Class 1 Asphalt o Replace existing line stripe with non-epoxy line stripe o Install approximately 300 lineal feet of 6" asphalt curb feet (measurements to be verified by Contractor in the field) o The playscape area should NOT be paved, coordinate with Playscape contractor to prepare this area. See attached Scope of Work Exhibit A Bryant School Playground Site Plan Demolition & Engineering of Retaining Wall (Approximately 300 lineal feet of wall, measurements to be verified by Contractor in the field) o Engineer and design wall details in order to secure a permit o Obtain and pay for permit if required by the City of Bridgeport o Call before you dig o Mobilize and set up protection o Remove and dispose of two (2) trees, as identified in the field, stump grind o Remove and dispose of neighbor's wood fence that hinders work o Remove and dispose of existing fence o Demolition and removal of existing retaining wall o Excavate for new footing, form and pour new footing per engineered design o Form walls to approximately one foot above existing grade o Purchase and install reinforcing, pour walls, strip walls o Backfill and compact as needed o Purchase and install two (2) new catch basin tops o Purchase and install approximately 332 lineal feet of 8' high galvanized fence (measurements to be verified by contractor in the field) o Determine if adjacent neighbor's garage will impede Work to be performed and include pricing for any work needed o Repair of asphalt and walkways disturbed during Work o Replace existing wood fence, approximately 40 lineal feet (measurements to be verified by Contractor in the field) Owner to obtain adjacent owner's permission for any equipment men and materials that may be placed on their property prior to Work Walkway Replacement by Poplar Street, As shown in Scope of Work Exhibit B Walkway by Poplar Street, Bryant School and as identified in field. o Obtain and pay for permit if required by the City of Bridgeport o Demo and dispose of existing pavers o Remove base material to City of Bridgeport sidewalk specification & standards as seen in Exhibit C o Compact materials per City of Bridgeport sidewalk specification & standards as seen in Exhibit C o Form and Pour sidewalk approximately 47 X 4 feet per City of Bridgeport sidewalk specification & standards as seen in Exhibit C. Contractor must verify measurements in the field. o Remove all forms and back dress (seed & loam) area Replacement of Sidewalk along Maplewood Avenue side of Bryant School as identified in field, approximately 175 X 10 feet o Obtain and pay for permit if required by the City of Bridgeport o Call before you dig o Demo and dispose of existing sidewalks, Contractor to verify sidewalks in field with Owner o Demo and dispose of existing curbs, leaving the catch basin top in place o Form and pour curbs per City of Bridgeport Sidewalk Specifications and Standards as seen in Exhibit C o Form and pour sidewalks per City of Bridgeport Sidewalk Specifications and Standards as seen in Exhibit C o Remove all forms and back dress o Patch asphalt adjacent to new sidewalk as needed Maplewood Ave - Replacement of asphalt with concrete o Obtain and pay for permit if required by the City of Bridgeport o Sawcut o Excavation and disposal of existing asphalt o Replace with concrete, approximately 45 X 8 feet per City of Bridgeport Sidewalk Specifications and Standards as seen in Exhibit C Perimeter Fencing Replacement o Remove and dispose of existing fence o Replace approximately 80 lineal feet of chain link fence alone side and approximately 285 lineal feet along the back to be identified in field (the fencing behind the neighbor's garage will not be replaced, as identified in field approximately _ x _. Bryant paving & sitework (Base Bid) Alternate 1_ Walkway Replacement by Poplar Street Alternate 2_Replacement of Sidewalk along Maplewood Avenue of Bryant School Alternate 3_ Maplewood Ave- Replacement of asphalt with contract Project shall be entirely completed during Summer Break June 23 - August 10, 2026.
