Question Deadline 01/28/2026 Any prospective Bidder desiring an explanation or interpretation of the solicitation, drawings, specifications, etc., must submit a request in writing to the Architect/Engineer (A/E) eight (8) business days before the bid due date or by logging into the DES Public Procurement Portal The Project consists of the base bid removal and replacement of the B4 MCC Panel in the basement of Building D of the Walla Walla Community College. Additionally, four bid alternates include the removal and replacement of the B1, B2, and B3 MCC Panels also in the basement of Building D, as well as B5 MCC Panel located in the second floor library. A. The project's scope of work is to replace four motor control centers with no adjustments to control wiring. The intent is for the work to occur simultaneously over a two-month period maximum to allow for the existing system to be shut down in its entirety to simplify replacement. The owner and engineer believe to the extent possible that the feeders and conduits are in reasonable shape and anticipate that they can be reused. Access to the work site is good and equipment will fit all pathway clearances. The project anticipates the contractual period from the date of notice to proceed to September 25, 2026 shall be for material procurement, and on-site work for the project shall be limited to 60 calendar days commencing on September 25, 2026. Contractor is responsible for all work and project management contained in drawings and specifications. B. Motor control center mcc-b4 (base bid) 1. Mcc-b4 (480 volt section) is fed from mechanical room switchboard with a 3p-600 amp circuit breaker and two sets of: 2-1/2"c-3#350 kcmil copper feeders and grounding via conduit 2. Mcc-b4 (208 volt section) is fed from panel blm with a 3p-100 amp circuit breaker and 4"c-3#2 copper feeders, 1#2 copper neutral, and grounding via conduit. 3. Replace sections indicated on plans including both 480 volt and 208 volt. 4. Intercept existing feeders to 480 volt section, insert a 480 volt fused disconnect adjacent to sections for local control, reroute feeders and conduit to fused disconnect. 5. Provide and install new feeders from new fused disconnect to new mcc-b4 incoming 480 volt section.
