The City of Port Huron is requesting proposals for professional services to develop a Forestry Management Plan. The scope of work includes: attending and administering meetings related to the project (kickoff, preliminary and final plan reviews, interim progress, City Council), preparing and submitting preliminary and final forestry management plans, implementing comments from plan reviews, preparing final deliverables, presenting to City Council, addressing City Council comments and resubmitting the plan, administering two public input meetings, identifying community education strategies, conducting a tree study/survey/inventory with risk assessment on public property, preparing a canopy survey, and developing a master plan with goals, grant identification, suitable planting locations, equitable distribution, planting checklist, an implementation plan (timeline/budget), and a tree maintenance plan (cost, staffing). Training on data management for the tree inventory system is required. Instructions to bidders: Proposals should include a detailed description of proposed methods to complete the scope of work, a list of persons and their resumes for various tasks, a list of subconsultants (if any), company experience, tables showing proposed worker-hours and a price/itemization for staff and non-labor expenses, any suggested alternatives or exceptions, and a description of management involvement. Addenda will be provided as needed. Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the specified markings, by the stated deadline, to the City Clerk at the provided address. The City is not liable for costs incurred prior to issuance of a contract.
