The project consists of the complete replacement of filtration and chemical systems for the Lions Park Splash Pad. This includes the installation of 30" vertical FRP filter tanks (120 GPM), Activated Filter Media (AFM(R)), Pulsar(R) Precision 30 Sanitization, and Stenner-equivalent pumps. Bidders are instructed to submit sealed bids labeled with the project title and bidder information to the specified address. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids. A. The filter system must consist of 30-inch diameter vertical FRP filter tanks high-rate sand sized to accommodate a flow rate of 120GPM not to exceed 12.5 GPM per square foot of filter area. All components of the filter system must be certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and bear the certification mark. The filter must have a data plate permanently affixed on the face of the system that describes operational data and manufacture date. B. Advanced Media Filtration 1. Filter System a. Basis of Design: The filter system under this section must be a Precision Control AMF filter by Aquafinity or approved equal. b. It is the intent of these specifications to describe a filter system complete with accessory items supplied and warranted by one manufacturer. c. The primary components of the system consist of the FRP filter tank with Gelcoat exterior finish, oversized 1.5-inch filter laterals, 2-inch AMF multiport valve, sight glass, pressure gauge panel. C. Filter Media 1. Activated Filter Media - AFM(R) shall be manufactured from very specific green and brown glass types, engineered to obtain optimum and consistent particle size and shape, activated to increase the surface area up to 300 times of that of crushed glass or sand and chemically and thermally treated to ensure permanent negatively charged surface properties that make AFM(R) self-sterilizing. a. AFM(R) Performance AFM(R) must not support bacterial growth, shall filter consistently at 12.5 GPM per Square foot of filter area without flocculation: o selectively filter positively charged ionic particles such as heavy metals o not suffer from channelling or preferential pathways o consistently evacuate more than 95% of retained particles using 50% or less water than required for sand. (backwash duration 5 mins max at 15GPM/sq ft ). ominimum service lifespan of 10 years or more.
