The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is soliciting bids from qualified firms to furnish and deliver reinforcing steel to the VDOT Lexington Lot at 305 Buena Vista Rd, Lexington, VA 24450. The reinforcing steel required is CRR Class I and must conform to AASHTO M 344M/M 334-17 – Standard Specification for Uncoated, Corrosion-Resistant, Deformed and Plain Chromium Alloyed, Billet-Steel Bars for Concrete Reinforcement, as well as to Section 223 of the Specifications. The steel must be deformed and have a minimum yield stress of 100 ksi. The Contractor is responsible for furnishing and delivering the reinforcing steel as detailed in Attachments A-A3, ensuring the steel is bundled and tagged with the appropriate attachment, project number, and markings as provided on the steel schedule. VDOT will unload the steel. The CRR Class I reinforcing steel will be measured and paid for in pounds, with the price including all costs for furnishing, fabricating, and delivering the steel to the specified site. Material delivery is required on or before February 12, 2026, to the specified address and between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. The Contractor must contact the designated VDOT representative a minimum of 48 hours before delivery for instructions. If VDOT cannot accept delivery due to weather or other conditions, the steel will remain at the vendor’s location without additional storage costs. Manufacturer’s certification and mill analysis paperwork must be submitted upon delivery. All bids must be submitted electronically via eVA using the Bidder’s established eVA Supplier Account by the stated closing date and time. Faxed, emailed, mailed, or hand-delivered bids will not be accepted. Bidders must ensure all required documents and attachments are completed and uploaded with the bid submission. Bid pricing must not be unbalanced and must follow the instructions and specifications provided in the solicitation.
