In general, the work is comprised of public works construction including electrical work, monument construction, best management practices, and other miscellaneous improvements as shown on the plans and as required to complete the work. The contractor shall possess a valid Class A Contractor's License, Class B Contractor's License, or combination of Class C Contractor's License at the time of submitting bids. The wage rates applicable are the State of California Department of Industrial Relations prevailing rates of per diem wages, and all contractors and subcontractors must comply with all provisions of the California Labor Code relating to prevailing wage rates. The project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. Within three days of bid opening, the contractor must submit a revised bid bond with numerical dollar values. Within five working days after the Notice of Apparent Low Bidder, the successful bidder is required to submit the required Contract Agreement and Insurance. Within ten working days after the Notice of Award, the successful bidder must submit Bonds (Faithful Performance and Material and Labor), Construction Schedule, Traffic Control Plan, and Water Pollution Prevention Plan. Contract Documents may be inspected without charge at the Public Works Department, City Hall. It is the contractor's responsibility to ensure they are on the City's Plan Holder's List and to obtain any addendums or clarifications that are issued by the City on the City's website prior to submitting a bid.
