Work includes the milling of existing pavement, providing and installing HMA intermediate and surface pavement, pavement striping and markings, and select concrete curb and curb ramp removals and replacements along Ireland Road from the west city limit to Ironwood Drive located in South Bend, Indiana, as more particularly described in the plans and specifications. Bidders must submit sealed electronic bids including the company/vendor name, address, contact details, and the project title and number. Electronic bids must utilize the City of South Bend Contractor's Bid for Public Work Form, accompanied by an electronic copy of a Bid Bond or Certified Check for not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid plus any alternates; the awarded bidder must mail the original bond or check. Bidders must comply with the "City of South Bend EEO Contracting Provision Diversity Utilization" in the specifications for each construction trade. Woman and Minority-Owned Business Enterprises (W/MBE) are encouraged to respond. All submission requirements listed in Section 6-63 of the Responsible Bidder Ordinance must be met prior to the public bid opening. Supplemental information may be requested, and customer references may be checked. The Board of Public Works reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to accept a full or partial award in the City's best interests, and will consider total cost for the base bid and alternates in determining the lowest, responsive, and responsible bid.
