The intent and purpose are to obtain competitive bids and award a contract for the annual supply of standard hydrated lime for the Water Treatment Plant. The supply shall be approximately 2,750 tons of Standard Hydrated Lime [Calcium Hydroxide: Ca(OH)2], to be delivered as requested. The product must comply with American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards as described in AWWA B202-07, with specifications including a minimum of 94.0% Ca(OH)2, a minimum of 92.0% passing through a -325 mesh, and a maximum of 1.0% moisture. The contract will be for twelve months with two possible one-year renewals. Products found to be defective or broken must be replaced within five working days after notification. All supplied material and workmanship must be guaranteed free from defects for the manufacturer's standard warranty period. Bidders should note that orders will be placed on an as-needed basis, with no guarantee on actual purchase quantities. Bid prices must be net, include all delivery charges, and be firm for at least one month. Price adjustments must be submitted in writing at least 30 days prior to their effective date and documented. The City reserves the right to reject any requested price increases and to cancel items from the contract if needed. In the event of a manufacturer's price decrease or lower prices to other customers, the City must be notified immediately and receive the reduced price.
