The 2025 TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS project includes the replacement of traffic equipment at various intersections within the jurisdiction of the City of Urbandale. The general scope includes the installation of 6 Preemption GPS/Radio Antennas, 1 Opticom Phase Selector, lowering 1 traffic handhole, and 1 traffic signal pole. The contractor is required to fully complete the project by May 31, 2026. Bid documents are available at no cost. Instructions to bidders include requirements for filing sealed proposals, provision of a fully completed Bidder Status Form, and mandatory furnishing of a Performance Bond equal to 100% of the contract price. Payment will be based on monthly estimates, with 95% paid monthly and the remaining 5% held until all contract conditions are met. There are stipulations for sales tax exemption, non-discrimination in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, preference given to Iowa-grown products, and reciprocal resident bidder and labor force preferences as outlined in Iowa law. Failure to comply with any of these requirements may result in the bid being deemed nonresponsive and rejected.
