LOCATION OF PROJECT The proposed project is located along Lemont Road,87th Street, and 83rd Street in Southern DuPage County in the City of Darien, Village of Woodridge, and Unincorporated Downers Grove Township. The Southern limit is 850 feet south of the intersection of Lemont Road / 87th Street and extends north to 600 feet north of the intersection of Lemont Road / 83rd Street. The improvements also extend west along 87th Street from Lemont Road to Havens Drive. Relative to major arterials the project is located approximately one (1.0) mile north of Interstate 55 and one (1.0) mile east of Interstate 355. [ 41° 43’ 58.88” N, 88° 00’ 43.88” W,] and located in the following Section, Township, Range: Section 5, Township 37N, Range 11E Section 6, Township 37N, Range 11E Section 31, Township 38N, Range 11E Section 32, Township 38N, Range 11E DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT The work consists of the intersection widening of Lemont Road / 87th Street and Lemont Road / 83rd Street along with the hot-mix asphalt surface pavement removal and replacement. Traffic signal modernization to both intersections, drainage improvements, ADA upgrades, reconstruction to a portion of 87th Street west of Lemont Road, retaining wall, pavement marking, erosion control, and landscaping is also included in the work. Also included as part of the scope of work is the hot-mix asphalt surface removal and replacement of Lemont Road between 87th Street and 83rd Street, the hot-mix asphalt surface removal and replacement of 87th Street from Lemont Road west to Havens Drive, ADA upgrades, pavement marking, erosion control, and landscaping. The project includes all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the improvements as shown in the plans and described herein.
