GENERAL DESCRIPTION Provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, transportation, means, and methods necessary to furnish and install approximately 290 linear feet of 7-foot-high decorative steel ("iron") fencing, including pedestrian and vehicular access gates, complete and operational, around the designated NSHE parking lot, in accordance with the project drawings, details, and specifications. All work shall be performed in a turnkey manner, including coordination with the Owner, electrical/security contractors, and compliance with all applicable codes and UNLV standards. 2. FENCE SYSTEM 2.1 Fence Type and Construction o Decorative steel ("iron") fence system, 7 feet nominal height o Fence panels fabricated of: o Vertical steel pickets, approximately 3/4 " wide, 14-gauge o Nominal picket spacing approximately 3 5/8 inches o Horizontal steel rails and U-channel framing per manufacturer's commercial specifications o Posts: o Steel posts sized per manufacturer's commercial-grade system (Fortress V2 or approved equal) o Posts set in concrete foundations o Fence layout and alignment per approved site plan and exhibits 2.2 Finish o All steel components to be black in color o Factory-applied, architectural-grade coating system consisting of: o G-60 pre-galvanized steel substrate o Zinc phosphate pretreatment o E-coat o Polyester powder coat o Finish suitable for exterior, high-UV, desert climate conditions 3. GATES 3.1 Pedestrian Gate o One (1) 4-foot-wide single swing pedestrian gate o Gate height to match adjacent fence (7 feet) o Heavy-duty steel frame and picket infill to match fence o Equipped with: o Panic hardware (Von Duprin or approved equal) o Card reader access (coordination with security/electrical contractor) o Self-closing hardware o Locking devices compatible with access control system o Panic hardware and access control devices to be fully operational upon completion 3.2 Vehicular Sliding Gates o Two (2) 12-foot-wide rolling/sliding vehicular gates o Gates to match fence height and style o Heavy-duty steel construction with reinforced frame o Gates mounted on concrete ground tracks o Each gate to include: o LiftMaster slide gate operators o Safety/AVI loops o Safety edges o Photo eyes o Keypad with pedestal at vehicle entrance o Gates to provide controlled vehicle entry and exit 4. FOUNDATIONS AND CONCRETE WORK o Excavate for all fence posts, gate posts, operator pads, and ground track foundations o Concrete: o Fence post footings per manufacturer's recommendations and site conditions o Typical footing depth approximately 36 inches nominal o Gate posts and operator pads sized to support gate loads and equipment o Provide concrete placement, finishing, curing, and cleanup o Restore disturbed areas adjacent to foundations as required 5. EQUIPMENT AND MEANS & METHODS o Provide all required equipment including, but not limited to: o Augers, excavators, and concrete placement equipment o Welding and fabrication tools (if field adjustments are required) o Lifting equipment for gates and operators o Install fencing plumb, level, and aligned o Coordinate gate installation sequencing to maintain site access as required Protect adjacent pavement, striping, curbs, and site improvements from damage 6. ELECTRICAL AND ACCESS CONTROL COORDINATION o Coordinate with Owner and electrical/security contractors for: o Power supply to gate operators o Installation and integration of card readers, keypads, loops, photo eyes, and safety devices o Provide mounting hardware and raceway provisions as required o Test all gates and safety systems for proper operation 7. QUALITY CONTROL AND TESTING o Verify all fence panels and gates meet specified dimensions and tolerances o Test all gates for: o Smooth operation o Proper opening/closing speeds o Emergency release and panic hardware function o Safety device functionality o Adjust gates and hardware as required for proper performance 8. CLEANUP AND CLOSEOUT o Remove all debris, excess materials, and equipment from the site o Clean fence and gate surfaces o Provide manufacturer warranties for fencing, coatings, and gate operators o Provide as-built information if requested o Final acceptance subject to Owner inspection Question Deadline 01/29/2026 at 8:00 PM PT Please submit any questions or requests for additional information through online question tab.
