The Town of Claresholm is undertaking a project to install new watermain on Highway 520 from 3rd Street W to Highway 2, and install new sanitary sewer main along Highway 520 from 2nd Street E to west of Highway 2. The new watermain is to provide looping connections for the Town to improve system performance. The majority of the watermain will be installed via direct drilling to minimize surface rehabilitation on the surface of Highway 520. The sanitary installations are needed due to existing sanitary main damage and back grading near Highway 2. The new sanitary sewer will be upgraded from VCT to PVC pipe. The new sanitary installations across Highway 2 will be installed via augured boring with casing pipe in order to maintain traffic along Highway 2 throughout construction. Work includes watermain installation via HDD, sanitary sewer installation via open cut / trenchless methods, and Highway surfacing replacements.
