The work consists of removing and replacing the existing spa and filtration system at the James J. Eagan Center. The contractor is responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision. The project includes the demolition and disposal of existing spa equipment, installation of a new fiberglass spa shell (144"x92"x42.5" deep) replumbed in schedule 40 rigid PVC, installation of water line tile with depth markers, connecting to pipes sleeved through the floor, providing and installing a new equipment package (filter pump, jet booster pump, heater), and all new piping, valves, and fittings. The existing chemical controller, chlorinator, and PH feeder will be reused. A new emergency shut off and timer system is to be installed. The contractor will build a new deck around the spa using Trex-type material for the top (subject to County Health Department approval), with the sides enclosed and an access panel to the underside. Start-up and commissioning, as well as all electrical work, must be completed by the contractor. All work must comply with local, state, and federal codes, industry standards, and manufacturer recommendations, be performed during normal daytime hours, and be coordinated with City staff for timely completion. Drawings and permits must be provided to the St. Louis County Health Department and the City of Florissant. Bidders may propose equivalent products if approved by the City. The City of Florissant is tax-exempt and will retain old pumps and filter for backup purposes.
