The scope of work includes roadway intersection reconstruction, new sidewalks and curb ramps, new drainage structures and pipes, lighting installation, partial retaining wall removal, signing, striping, and landscaping. Bidding procedures shall be in accordance with General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Chapter 30, 39M, as amended. Bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid, payable to the Town of Weymouth, is required and shall be attached to the outside of the bid proposal. The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond and payment bond each in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price from a satisfactory surety company. Attention is required to prevailing wage rate schedules, and the contractor must pay prevailing wages in accordance with the classification schedule from the Massachusetts Commissioner of Labor & Industries. Compliance with the Town of Weymouth's Affirmative Action program and submission of the appropriate MBE/WBE forms as described in the Special Conditions is required. MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as Highway - Construction for the project is required. The Town of Weymouth reserves the right to waive any informalities in bids, reject any or all bids, or accept any proposal that is in the best interest of the Town.
