The Town of Shrewsbury invites sealed bids for site work and the complete installation of a playground at Arrowwood Park. Play equipment has already been purchased by the Town and it shall be installed by the awarded bidder. All contractors must submit bids in conformance with the invitation for bid and the related documents, which are available online and in the Office of the Town Manager. Bids are due in the Office of the Town Manager at the specified deadline. Bidders' Questions Due Wednesday, FEBRUARY 4, 2026, at 11 AM EST All questions by prospective bidders as to the interpretation of the Information for Bidders, Requirements, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Plans, Specifications, or Bonds must be submitted in writing to Jeff Goodwin, Assistant to the Town Manager-Procurement, via email at jgoodwin@shrewsburyma.gov The scope of work is defined by the Contract Documents (Drawings and Specifications in this Project Manual). Work includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Removal of existing play equipment and installing new play equipment prepurchased by Owner. 2. New playground safety surfacing furnished and installed by Contractor. 3. Installment of new site furnishings pre-purchased by Owner to include shade canopies, trash receptacles, benches, and playground sign. 4. New galvanized chain link fence with two pedestrian gates mounted on a cast-inplace concrete mow curb, furnished and installed by Contractor. 5. Curb cut ramps with detectable warning panel, furnished and installed by Contractor. 6. New asphalt paving, furnished and installed by Contractor. 7. Shade trees, shrubs, loam, and seed all disturbed areas, furnished and installed by Contractor. B. The project will be constructed under a single prime contract. 1. A Certified Playground Safety Inspector will always supervise the play equipment and surface installation. 2. Work on this Project shall commence April 2026, after the Notice to Proceed by Owner, be substantially completed on June 5, 2026, and be ready for occupancy by June 12, 2026. C. Before commencing Work, the Contractor shall submit a Schedule of Values AND a Weekly Construction Schedule showing the planned sequence of work, commencement, and completion dates for all phases of the Work. D. Continuous Prosecution of Work: Once physical construction commences, Contractor shall staff and prosecute the Work on each Work Day, subject to weather and Ownerapproved constraints, until Substantial Completion. Failure to staff the Work without reasonable cause, constituting excusable delay under the Contract shall be grounds for Owner direction to replace non-performing personnel with qualified playground equipment installers to maintain the Project schedule, at no additional cost to the Owner.
