The scope of work includes removal and reconstruction of a portion of the existing limestone retaining wall and associated chain link fencing. Also included are modifications to the existing storm sewer system adjacent to the retaining wall and limited site pavement work. Bids will be received and the project constructed under a single prime contract on a lump sum basis. Each bid must be submitted on the provided Bid Form and accompanied by bid security in the amount of ten percent of the total bid submitted, in specific acceptable forms. No oral, facsimile, or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Bids must be delivered in sealed envelopes marked with the Project Name and bidder's information. Any alteration of the bid form may be cause for rejection. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Certificate of Insurance and Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract price, and meet other requirements as outlined. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities or irregularities. Bidders are reminded this project is tax exempt and not to include Iowa State Sales Tax in any calculation of bid totals. Preference is given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within Iowa, as lawfully required under state statutes. All bids are governed by the relevant Iowa Code and Board Policies, including Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Policy. Additional time and access restrictions/timelines may apply, as specified in construction documents.
