Site work and new construction of a transportation facility in New York, New York. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a transportation facility.

Governor Hochul proposed extending the Q line west along 125th Street, adding three new stops at Lenox Avenue, St. Nicholas Avenue, and Broadway. A feasibility study confirmed the possibility of extending the Second Avenue Subway line construction west to Broadway, serving hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers. The tunneling work will follow the current East Harlem extension to save time and money. Governor Hochul will fund design and preliminary engineering for tunneling across 125th Street. The extension will improve commutes for millions, intersect with seven north-south subway lines, and connect underserved communities to jobs. As of May 14, 2026, this project is in the conceptual phase. Information regarding a design team and the contractor selection has not been disclosed. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *Project information, including timeline and contacts, has been obtained through public sources.
