The project consists of the removal and replacement of existing metal roof panels including, but not limited to, selective demolition, metal roof panels, gutters and downspouts, insulation, and accessories as required at the building located at 1035 North Dewey Street, Fairmont, MN 56031. The work also includes general construction related to roof replacement as shown on drawings and defined in the Project Manual. Clarifications requested by bidders must be in writing not less than 7 days before date set for receipt of bids. The reply will be in the form of an Addendum, a copy of which will be forwarded to known recipients. Bidders must submit sealed bids to the office of the Owner prior to the specified time. Submissions must include a security deposit in the form of a cash deposit, certified check, or bidder's bond in an amount not less than 5% of the bid. This deposit serves as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into an agreement and provide required bonds if awarded the contract. Bidders must also provide separate prices for labor and materials to accommodate sales tax exemption for materials; two separate contracts will be issued for labor and materials. The project is to be completed by the specified date. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. Instructions to bidders include requirements for examination of the project site, procedures for submitting inquiries and requests for substitution, bid submission, bid enclosures, insurance, performance and payment bonds, and signature requirements for the bid form. Bidders are responsible for ensuring complete and accurate preparation of all required documents and timely delivery of their bids. Bids must remain open and irrevocable for 60 days after the bid closing date.
