Description

Demolition, site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Geneva, Illinois. Design plans call for the construction of a 60,000-square-foot fire / police facility; for the demolition of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

The City of Geneva is proposing the construction of a new 45,000-square-foot police station to replace its outdated facility. The project is part of a public safety referendum that will appear on the March 17, 2026, primary ballot. The proposed station would be built on a city-owned site at South Street Baseball Park, minimizing land costs and delays. It would include secure indoor parking, better evidence storage, training and wellness space, improved public access, and a community room for large meetings. It would also be energy-efficient and LEED-certified, reducing operating costs and enabling future renewable energy integration. If approved, the city plans to sell the current building to offset costs. As of March 3, 2026, awaiting voter approval for funding on March 17, 2026, primary vote. Design team identified. Design July-December 2026. Bidding anticipated first quarter 2027, construction anticipated 2nd quarter 2027. Completion expected 2nd quarter 2028.
