Work under this contract entails the replacement of wood pole assets that are at the end of serviceable life. These poles are rated as P1 and P2 meaning they have a potential of imminent failure. Associated primary conductors and pole equipment such as transformers, switches, services, and other appurtenances will be transferred or replaced as part of the replacement work. Issued Work Packages may include, but are not limited to, the following tasks: - Site preparation, including installation and maintenance of temporary erosion and sedimentation controls, temporary services, and safety measures such as barricades, fencing, and plating of excavations; installation of all tree and landscaping protection measures - Site demolition, removal, and legal disposal of vegetation, waste soil, and demolition of existing wood pole assets and associated equipment including wood poles, foundations, down-guys, anchors, wood or fiberglass cross-arms, overhead transformers, cut outs, switches, protective devices, electrical conduits for underground terminations and service drops, wiring, conductors, secondary services, steel trusses or bracing equipment, electrical vaults, and handholes - Installation of owner-furnished new wood pole assets and associated equipment including wood poles, fiberglass poles, foundations, down-guys, anchors, wood or fiberglass cross arms, overhead transformers, switches, protective devices, electrical conduits for underground terminations and service drops, wiring, conductors, neutrals, secondary services, electrical vaults, and handholes - Transfers of existing overhead equipment including primary conductors, neutrals, secondary services, overhead transformers, cut-outs, switches, protective devices, street light fixtures including bracket arms, AMR, AMI, and radio equipment, and transfers of third-party communications facilities - Performing site restoration associated with wood pole installation such as pavement and sidewalk restoration, landscaping as needed, and removal of debris This description is a summary and may not include all incidental work elements required to complete each Work Package. Each Work Package will specify the scope of work for wood pole replacement and must be performed as specified in the Contract and the Work Package details. Bidders must understand and demonstrate compliance with the requirements of SMC 14.16 and RCW 49.46 prior to award.
