Bid Deposit: 5% City Bid - High School Field Turf Replacement - This Bid Specification was prepared to solicit sealed bids on behalf of the City of Stamford Engineering Bureau from qualified responsible contractors for field turf replacement at Stamford High School with an Alternate to remove and replace the existing Westhill High School front field turf and fencing. The scope of work is further delineated in the attached specifications and drawings provided for this project. The name of the project is "Stamford High School Upper Turf Field & Westhill High School Synthetic Turf Replacement". Stamford High School is located at 55 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. Westhill High School is located at is located at 125 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT 06902. A. The general intent of the Base Bid Work is: 1. Remove and dispose existing synthetic turf and infill. 2. Remove and dispose of concrete curbing and chain link fencing where noted on the site plans, 3. Replace existing shock pad as necessary due to any material damaged during turf removal. 4. Install new concrete curbing and chain link fencing where noted on the site plans. 5. Install new infilled synthetic turf system on a shock pad and markings. 6. Furnish and install a concrete pad for a future storage garage. 7. Remove and dispose of concrete curbing and chain link fencing where noted on the site plans, 8. Install new concrete curbing and chain link fencing where noted on the site plans. 9. Install concrete discus pad and throwing circle with cage 10. Install shot put event area with concrete pad, throwing circle, toe board and landing sector. B. The general intent of the Bid Alternate No. 1 Work is 1. Remove and dispose existing synthetic turf and infill. 2. Compact and laser grade existing stone base. Supplement base as necessary due to any material lost during turf removal. 3. Install communication boxes and conduit. 4. Paint football goals and install directional wind flags. 5. Install new infilled synthetic turf system and markings. 6. Bid Alternate No. 2 - Remove and dispose of existing ball safety netting on the north and east sides of the field. Furnish and install new ball safety netting. 7. Bid Alternate No. 3 - Install new 12' height ball safety netting along top of existing retaining wall on the south side of the field. DESCRIPTION OF ALTERNATES A. (ADD) Alternate Number 1: Total lump sum cost for all work associated with the Westhill High School Synthetic Turf Field Replacement project. B. (ADD) Alternate Number 2: Total cost to remove and dispose of the existing ball safety netting on the north and east side of the field, net poles shall remain, and furnish and install new ball safety netting C. (ADD) Alternate Number 3: Total cost to furnish and install 12' height ball safety netting along the top of the existing retaining wall along the south end of the field.
