The Project involves pruning trees within public rights-of-way in the Village of Mokena. The contractor will be compensated on a per tree basis by size class, including 1,124 trees between 7-14 inches and 25 trees between 15-24 inches, totaling 1,149 trees. Evaluation criteria for contractors include: ability, capacity, skill and resources to perform the work; promptness and ability to complete the service without delays; character, integrity, reputation, judgment, experience, and efficiency; and the quality of performance on previous contracts within the Village and other municipalities over the last five years. At least two municipal references must be for removal contracts involving more than 200 parkway trees annually. One individual managing the contract on site must have passed the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) arborist certification exam and possess a valid certification prior to proposal submission. Names and certification numbers are required in the proposal documents. The Village reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive technicalities, and accept the proposal deemed in its best interest.
