Its a three-story space consisting of Main and abutted Addition Buildings. The project base scope includes installation of single tier surface mounted lockers in the main East-West corridor at 2 nd and 3 rd floors, as shown in the attached sketch. The total number of lockers is 250 singles, to be mounted on the North and South walls of the two corridors. These lockers will have with sloped tops, but no legs. Prior to the installation of new lockers, the GC will remove the wooden chair railing and wall base in some areas where the new lockers are being installed. The removed railing and wall base sections will be salvaged and turned over to the Building Engineer for future use. GC will protect the existing CPS assets for their continued future use. Environmental Reports and Design Manual by CCA will be furnished with the Addendum. That manual will clarify if any work must be done by an RRP certified vendor and/or if abatement is required. This RRP or abatement work, if required, must be done by a licensed Illinois contractor. Bidders to ignore any information in the MEC manual related to Plumbing fixtures. That work will be bid as a separate project. Furnish and install 250 new sloped-top, surface mounted single tier lockers, without any legs. Size of individual lockers is 12" wide, 15" deep and 60" tall, as per CPS standards. The location and distribution of the new lockers is shown in the attached floor plans. New locker color will be selected by the school Principal. See base item 2 below for limited demolition of the wall base in the areas of new locker placement. The MEC manual will be issued next week, as part of the Addendum. GC will include abatement and/or RRP work by a licensed contractor, if required per MEC manual. 2. GC will remove wooden chair railing, wall base and shoe in the areas of new locker installation at all applicable locations, prior to installing the new lockers. These demolished sections/materials will be salvaged and handed over to the Building Engineer for future use. Patch and paint any areas of the walls damaged during the construction to ensure solid backing for the new lockers. GC will also be responsible to repair any incidental damage caused to the building, without passing on any cost to CPS All bid questions/requests must be received by 3:00 pm on 1/22/2026. Addendum will be issued by COB on 1/23/26. This is a 2026 Summer break project and the earliest work start date is 06/16/26. Any work targeted during the Summer break must complete before the students return to school. Expected lockers installation duration is 3 weeks total. GC will have to coordinate their work around Summer school, if CPS decides to hold summer classes at Smyth ES. All new lockers must be installed by the required Preliminary Acceptance date, 7/31/26, two weeks prior to the start of the new academic year. The Goals Applicable to this contract are: 30% MBE and 7% WBE (with no sub-goals)
