Question Deadline 02/05/2026 at 3:00 PM ET Deadline to submit Questions Online Portal Site Preparation o Front Entrance Island: Lift all plants in frontmost portion of island bed as shown on the Site Preparation Design Plan (Page 49). Add 3" of fill dirt, 1" compost, gently mixed. Top with 2" of hardwood mulch. Lyre-leaf sage goes to long berm on meadow and other plants are shown on the Planting Plan (Page 57). o Meadow: remove wisteria and stack and stage stones around big leaf magnolia. Create beds by cutting sod, add erosion netting, and 3" hardwood mulch. o Building Entrance: remove Amorpha shrub. Transplant (3) baptisia from E side of area. Stack and stage stones used as edging. 1.2 Irrigation and Water Management o Meadow: Build a long berm to direct water to a rain garden. 1 cy fill dirt included to build long berm. Build rain garden approximately 30 ft.2 (15' long by 4' wide at the widest point). Excavate 28" deep. Fill with 6" of 57 stone, 18" engineered soil. Install spillway to existing drain using stones from site prep. o Add drip irrigation with (2) two output spigot timers. 1.3 Hardscape Installation o Bump Out 1: Build a retaining wall bump out-- 47 feet from origin corner and 2 feet away from road. Build retaining wall 2' high maximum, including base course. Excavate 20' x 18" by 1.5" deep. Redistribute soil to backfill. Add 1.5" crusher run. Build thick long stack boulder wall and taper into hillside. Add 2 yd.3 sifted filled to back fill. Add (4) fieldstone stepper treads to access top of bump out. o Bump Out 2: Build a retaining wall bump out-- 15.5 feet from origin corner and 11 feet away from road. Build retaining wall 2.5' high maximum, including base course. Excavate 20' x 18" by 1.5" deep. Redistribute soil to backfill. Add 1.5" crusher run. Build thick long stack boulder wall and taper into hillside. Add 2 yd.3 sifted filled to back fill. Add (5) fieldstone stepper treads to access top of bump out. o Meadow: Place (6) two-man boulders securely into ground. o Entrance Path: for approximate 15 feet wide by 70 feet long entrance path, grade, add 2 inches trail mix and tamp. Install corten metal edging along sides of path to retain aggregate. o Lay granite cobble edging, short ends together, along both sides of walkway to visitor center. Leave a space for future trail access to W Planting o Seed ecolawn mix on backfilled bump out areas and cover with wheat straw. Plant species, sizes, and quantities subject to change as installation date approaches. All plants are native to Georgia and listed in the Bonfire Bid Table. 1.5 General Requirements 1.5.1 Complete Scope The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and incidentals necessary to fully perform the Work described in this solicitation. 1.5.2 Cleanup The Contractor shall maintain the site in a clean condition throughout the project. Upon completion, all debris, excess materials, and equipment shall be removed, and the site left in a neat, finished condition acceptable to the Owner. 1.5.3 Materials Materials specified represent minimum acceptable standards. Any proposed substitutions must be submitted during the solicitation question-and-answer period and approved in writing by the Owner prior to use. 1.5.4 Protection of Existing Conditions The Contractor shall protect existing structures, utilities, vegetation, and site features. Any damage caused by Contractor operations shall be repaired or replaced at no additional cost to the Owner. 1.5.5 Site Safety and Access The Contractor shall maintain a safe worksite at all times and coordinate work activities to minimize disruption to staff, visitors, and ongoing operations. 1.5.6 Coordination and Schedule The Contractor shall coordinate work with the Owner and complete the Work within the timeframe established in the Agreement, subject to approved extensions.
